The western split reins are doubled and sewn Harness Leather with soft glovey chap lining, oiled and hand rubbed for that superior soft and supple "broke in" feel, the best on the planet! These reins have uniform balance through out the complete length with split popper leather slappers on end.... We take care to cut the reins side by side so they are PAIRED together, BORN together for that exact same feel & weight for the ultimate signal and communication! Available in 1/2" , 3/4" and 5/8" widths and 7' or 8' lengths. Oiled regular harness or black oiled. These split reins are great for reining, cutting, trail riding and stock horse events.

Best Reins Ever

Just received what are my 6th pair of these reins (5/8" wide and 7' long). Just love the feel of them. Soft as butter the first day of use. And the older ones (7 years+) feel as good as the brand new ones.

Nice lightweight reins with broke in feel

Reins are high quality, lightweight and supple as if they are already broken in. They’re nice for reining. Personally, I like a heavier rein for cutting but these are nice for arena work and around the ranch or trails.

Horrible quality, I’m sending back

Essential

I only use these reins for my snaffle horses. They have THE perfect weight, feel, and drape. I get the 3/4. The 7 ft length is short enough not to drag the ground on young horses. If Buckaroo Leather ever stops making these, I’m doomed. Nothing else compares.

Favorite reins ever

When they say these are made to feel broken in they are not kidding. I had tried a few different Amish made reins hoping to get that broken in soft feel from the start, but nothing comes close to these. Five minutes into my first ride with these reins and they felt very soft, supple, and hung down perfectly like I had been using them for years. No breaking in period, just awesome feeling reins. I bought the 5/8” x 7’ size. I’ll never use anything else. Oh, and this was three years ago so I wanted to add my experience for anyone else wondering if they are with it or not. They still look like the day I bought them.
